The Gameboy proved to be massively successful. The main rivals to the Gameboy at the time were the Sega Game Gear, Atari Lynx and the NEC TurboExpress. This was a masterstroke decision by Nintendo and led to the Game Boy seeing massive sales followed by a run of great Game Boy games. The Game Boy was first shipped with a copy of Tetris. Nintendo combined features from the Nintendo Entertainment System, NES and the Game & Watch series to build the original Game Boy. North America saw a Game Boy release date was of 1989 with Europe following in 1990. Created by Satoru Okada and developed by Nintendo. The 8 bit Game Boy DMG 01 was the first Gameboy. Either way it was an absolute blast! Nintendo Game Boy Hearing those retro game tunes bleep out of the Gameboy speaker really took me back! Within the thirty minutes I had completed it! Maybe I’m better now or maybe my thumbs can reach the buttons easier. I plugged in the cartridge and switched on the Gameboy. But I used to always find it really difficult.
